Owen Wilson of 'Cars 2' remembers his first vehicle (Video)
Owen Wilson, who voices a race car in the new animated movie "Cars 2," remembers his first vehicle.
"The first car that I drove was probably... my mother had a 240-D, green Mercedes and then the first car I owned was a Chevrolet Blazer," the 42-year-old told OnTheRedCarpet.com at the film's recent Los Angeles premiere. "A blue Tahoe. My car now is silver, or metallic gray."
Wilson has given his distinctive voice to several characters through the years, including "Marmaduke" and Coach Skip in the Wes Anderson flick "The Fantastic Mr. Fox." In "Cars 2," the actor gets under the hood of a red race car named Lightning McQueen, reprising his role from Disney-Pixar's hit 2006 animated movie.
"I think [the color of your car] says everything," Wilson told OnTheRedCarpet.com. "I don't even know why people take those Rorschach tests - just let someone see the color of your car and that says it all."
"Cars 2" follows Lightning McQueen and his buddy Mater head, played by Larry the Cable Guy, as they go overseas to compete in the World Grand Prix race. But trouble finds the cars when Mater gets caught up in some international espionage.
Wilson recently starred opposite Rachel McAdams and her boyfriend Michael Sheen in Woody Allen's "Midnight in Paris." Wilson told OnTheRedCarpet.com that he could see himself living in Paris, where the film was shot.
The actor is also known for his roles in "Wedding Crashers," "Zoolander" and Wes Anderson films such as "The Royal Tenenbaums" and "Rushmore," both of which he co-wrote. In January, he welcomed a son with girlfriend Jade Duell.
"Cars 2" was released on Friday, June 24, 2011. Watch the trailer below.
