Outkast announced on Tuesday, Jan. 14, that they will head out on a 40-date festival tour to celebrate their 20th anniversary. The announcement comes amid rumors the two are working on a new album.

The tour was announced on the official website of the band, whose members are Antwan "Big Boi" Patton and André "3000" Benjamin. After headlining Coachella in April, the two will tour 40 music festivals all over the world throughout the spring and summer of 2014. Official dates will be announced at a later time.

"It's truly an honor to celebrate 20 years and still be free to do music the way we choose," Patton said in a statement. "Don't just think outside the box, know that there is no box. I'm looking forward to rocking the stage with my Bro Ski and to all the fans - stank you smelly much, this is for y'all!"

"And imagine, all we wanted to do was rap! I am thankful to have been a part of a group that allowed me to explore anything that came to mind and have fun doing it," Benjamin said in a statement. "Returning to the stage together is the most exciting way for us to thank everyone for their 20 years of supporting Outkast."

Meanwhile, Queen Latifah, who used to manage the group, told Howard Stern in a recent interview on his satellite radio show that the duo is working on new music.

When Stern asked Latifah what the two are up to, she replied, "They're doing movies, and they're about to work on a new album."

"I don't manage them anymore," she added.

OutKast's last album was "Idlewild" in 2006. The album was the soundtrack to a film of the same name starring Patton and Benjamin.
