Oprah Winfrey turns 60, gets shiny birthday gift from Ellen DeGeneres
Happy birthday, Oprah Winfrey! The TV icon turned 60 on Wednesday, Jan. 29, and received a special gift from fellow talk show host Ellen DeGeneres -- and it's shiny.
DeGeneres showed the present, a portrait of Winfrey made of sequins, on an episode of her daytime series "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" that day.
"Pretty. Each one hand-done. I spent, I dunno ... took me months to do that thing," DeGeneres said. "I want to make sure she gets it but shipping is gonna cost me a fortune, so Oprah, if you want it, you have to come to my show and get it, OK?"
The talk show host then pretended to call Winfrey, adding that she has her number because she "stole it" from her longtime partner Stedman Graham's phone when she was at their home. A recording of Winfrey's voice was played and she is heard referring to DeGeneres as her "dear, delightful friend."
DeGeneres recently turned 56 and plans to celebrate her own birthday on Thursday's episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."
Winfrey spent part of her birthday having lunch with Maria Shriver, wife of Arnold Schwarzenegger. She posted an Instagram photo of the two. Check out the picture and a video of Ellen DeGeneres presenting Oprah Winfrey with her birthday present below.
