Oprah Winfrey tops Forbes list of Hollywood's highest-earning women; Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift also make the list

11/11/2010 by Kristina Lopez

Talk show host Oprah Winfrey was named Hollywood's highest-earning woman by Forbes with an estimated $315 million earned last year. This sum also makes Winfrey Hollywood's highest earner, regardless of gender.

There are plenty of other high-profile A-list stars who land on the list including Lady Gaga, Madonna, and Taylor Swift. However, the order might leave some a little surprised.

To calculate the stars' true value, the magazine says, "We talked to agents, managers, producers and lawyers."

While Beyonce comes in a distant second on the list, her earning power is nothing to blink at. According to Forbes, she pulled in an estimated $87 million in 2009 from a variety of businesses including a fashion and fragrance line, as well as the tour for her latest album " I Am... Sasha Fierce."

Britney Spears has bounced back from her personal woes and lands in third place with $64 million. Lady Gaga beat out veterans like Madonna (who came in fifth place with $58 million) and Sandra Bullock (in sixth place with $56 million).

Ellen DeGeneres' season long stint as an "American Idol" judge, as well as endorsements for Vitamin Water and CoverGirl, helped her get in seventh place. Miley Cyrus comes in eight place with the help of her "Hannah Montana" franchise, which is in its last season.

Rounding out the top ten are Taylor Swift and Judge Judy Sheindlin, who tie for ninth place. Each earned an estimated $45 million in 2009.
