Nolan Gould, 13-year-old 'Modern Family' star, has 150 IQ
Nolan Gould, who portrays the dimwitted Luke Dunphy on "Modern Family," told Ellen DeGeneres that he has already graduated from high school.
"All this summer I did a lot of studying," Gould said on "Ellen" on October 8. "[I] took an exam and tested out of high school, and hopefully I will go on to do some online community college classes."
The 13-year-old actor is a member of Mensa International, thanks to his IQ of 150. He visited "Ellen" this week and showed off his banjo-playing skills, on the banjo the host gave him in January.
Gould also talked about his experience at the recent Emmy Awards, where "Modern Family" won its third consecutive Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series.
"As I'm driving in my limo, I'm like, 'Wait a second, I'm 13, this is my third time at the Emmys,'" Gould told DeGeneres. "It's like, what am I supposed to do with the rest of my life? It's kind of all downhill from now."
In order to become a member of Mensa International, one has to score at the 98th percentile or higher on a standardized IQ test. Other celebrities who are reportedly members of the elite group include Quentin Tarantino, Steve Martin, Geena Davis, Natalie Portman and Jodie Foster.
In addition to "Modern Family," Gould has appeared in films like "Hysteria," "Monster Heroes" and "Friends with Benefits."
