Nicolas Cage back at work after arrest
Nicolas Cage is back at work after he was arrested over the weekend in New Orleans on charges of domestic violence and disturbing the peace after an alleged argument with his wife Alice Kim.
The 47-year-old actor has not commented on the case. He has since been released from jail and on Monday, he was back on the New Orleans set of his latest film, "Medallion," People magazine reported.
"He is always extremely professional," the magazine quoted a source on the set as saying. "He is never late, no tantrums. He is a dedicated actor when he is at work, and I don't think people would hire him so much if he wasn't."
Duane "Dog" Chapman, star of the reality show "Dog the Bounty Hunter," and his wife Beth Chapman posted Cage's $11,000 bail on Saturday and she later took to Twitter to drum up business for the couple's Bail Bond company.
Police said that Cage was found arguing with Kim, his third wife, outside in New Orleans' French Quarter. Official records state that Cage was arrested for one count of domestic abuse battery and one count of disturbing the peace. Cage is set to appear in court on May 31.
Cage has been married to Kim for almost seven years and they have one son together, 5 year old Kal-El, who was named after Superman's birth name.
Cage's most recent movies, "Season of the Witch" and "Drive Angry 3D" flopped at the box office. Cage won a Best Actor Oscar for his role in the 1995 movie, "Leaving Las Vegas."
"Medallion" tells of a former thief who searches for his kidnapped daughter. The movie stars Malin Akerman and is set for release in 2012.Cage also recently filmed "Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance," the sequel to the 2007 action movie that first featured the actor as stunt motorcyclist Johnny Blaze. In the new film, set for release in Febraury 2012, Cage's character is hiding out in Eastern Europe and is called upon to stop the devil, played by Ciaran Hinds.
