Neil Patrick Harris says he struggled with fatherhood when he and life partner David Burtka first brought home their twin babies, Gideon and Harper.

The 38-year-old star of the CBS sitcom "How I Met Your Mother" made his comments during an interview at his Los Angeles home with talk show queen Oprah Winfrey for an episode of her show "Oprah's Next Chapter," which is set to air on her OWN cable channel on Sunday, June 3. Harris and Burtka introduced Winfrey to their children and talked to her about raising them as a same-sex couple as well as their past experiences dating women.

Neil Patrick Harris, his life partner David Burtka and their dog, Watson, recently hung out with one of the most powerful women in entertainment - Oprah Winfrey. The longtime television host and owner of the OWN cable channel recently posted a photo of her and the three on her Facebook and Instagram pages.

Neil Patrick Harris, partner David Burtka and Chaz Bono were recently honored by the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center at its 40th Anniversary Gala.

Harris and Burtka, who have supported the group and other LGBT organizations for years, were given the Rand Schrader Distinguished Achievement Award at the event on Saturday. The two have been together for more than six years and are parents to twins.

Neil Patrick Harris will host the 2012 Tony Awards, marking the third time the comedy actor and stage performer has hosted the annual event, which honors achievements in American theatre.

The nominations will be announced on May 1. The ceremony takes place at the Beacon Theatre on June 10 and will air live on CBS at 8 p.m. ET.

Kal Penn and John Cho have matured a bit since their iconic Harold and Kumar characters escaped Guantanamo Bay and the pair hopes that fans have also grown in time for "A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas."

"The cool thing, to account for just life changes in general, are that the characters now are six years older than the first two movies and our audience is also grown up," Penn told OnTheRedCarpet.com in a press junket for the film. "The core audience that enjoyed these movies when they were 21or 22 now they're settling down, now they're dealing with the same issues that Harold and Kumar are dealing with in these movies. We we're hoping we could still retain that sense of bizarre humor and age with them."

John Cho has high hopes for "A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas," the third installment in his and Kal Penn's successful "Harold & Kumar" franchise.

"I think this will instantly become the greatest American movie ever made," Cho told OnTheRedCarpet.com at the film's premiere. "You heard that, right? The greatest. 'Citizen Kane' will become toilet paper next to our movie."

Neil Patrick Harris may be up to no good in "A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas," but the actor plans to have a very family-oriented Christmas with his twins.

"Christmas should be fun this year, our kids will be over a year, probably able to understand what itmeans to unwrap a present and have something be inside of it," Harris told OnTheRedCarpet.com at the film's premiere. "That's going to be a new concept to them, but the nice thing about having kids that young is that you don't have to travel, you can kind of force the family on the perimeter to come to you."
