Natalie Portman steps back into the shoes of Jane Foster in "Thor: The Dark World."
In the film, in theaters on Nov. 8, 2013, Portman reprises her role as Jane Foster, Thor's scientist girlfriend, in the sequel to "Thor," the 2011 blockbuster film. "Thor: The Dark World" also reunites Portman with Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Anthony Hopkins as Thor's father, Odin, and Tom Hiddleston as Thor's evil brother, Loki.
OTRC.com recently sat down with Portman, where she talked about filming the superhero flick in London, working with Hemsworth and Kat Dennings and why she feels the movie touches on real human elements so well.

Natalie Portman got the chance to really slap Chris Hemsworth in "Thor: The Dark World."
Portman plays Thor's love interest in the film and slaps the god of thunder at least twice in one scene, which can be seen here. The 32-year-old actress confirmed to George Pennacchio of KABC Television, OTRC.com's parent company, recently that the slaps were real.

Israeli film officials say Israeli-American actress Natalie Portman will direct her first feature film, based on an autobiographical novel by celebrated Israeli writer Amos Oz.
Yoram Honig of the Jerusalem Film Fund and a publicist for the film said Wednesday, July 24, that Portman wrote the screenplay and will also star in the movie as Oz's troubled mother.
