Naomi Campbell reportedly injured after attempted mugging
Supermodel Naomi Campbell was reportedly injured in Paris after an attempted mugging.
Authorities in France have reportedly confirmed that on November 21, two men on a motorcycle tried to mug the 42-year-old model by grabbing her handbag while she was seated in a car, according to BBC News.
The news site also reports that the model suffered a torn ligament in her left leg. Campbell has been photographed in a wheelchair and her leg in a brace following the alleged attack.
A police source reportedly told the UK's Press Association, "On November 21, two people on a motorbike attempted to steal Ms Campbell's handbag as she sat in a vehicle on Rue de Moussy. She filed a complaint with police in the 4th arrondissement but she did not agree to a medical examination."
A spokesperson for the model has declined to comment on the incident to the news organization and Campbell, who is active on Twitter, has not written about the injury or reported mugging.
The New York Post, which first reported the mugging, was able to contact Campbell, but the model reportedly told the newspaper, "I am sorry, I do not talk to press, but I am fine."
The newspaper also reports that Campbell is currently vacationing in Miami. Campbell will next appear on television as a mentor and judge on a Oxygen reality competition series called "The Face." The show also features models Karolina Kurkova and Coco Rocha and premieres on February 12 at 9 p.m.
