Milla Jovovich lashes out at Summit for not promoting 'The Three Musketeers'

Mila Jovovich's new film "The Three Musketeers" opened in theaters on October 21 and the actress has already lashed out at the production company Summit Entertainment for not promoting the film enough.

"'3 musketeers' opens in the US 2night! Do you think ppl know abt the movie? Ask your friends! Do they know it's a fun family film?" Jovovich asked her followers on October 21, adding later, "I think 'summit' hve swept '3 Musketeers', a grt family adventure film, under the rug in the US. Shame on them. SHAME ON YOU 'SUMMIT.'"

The film was directed by Jovovich's husband and "Resident Evil" helmer Paul W.S. Anderson. The actress, who stars as Milady de Winter, went on to accuse the production company, the film's distributor, of promoting its wildly successful "Twilight" franchise ahead of her new movie.

"Are 'summit' promoting it as a family adventure movie? Or are they resting on their laurels from 'twilight' n making no effort? Let me know!" Jovovich continued.

A representative from Summit Entertainment had no immediate comment.

"The Three Musketeers" follows a young man named D'Artagnan, played by Logan Lerman, who travels to Paris to become a fighter sworn to protect the French monarchy. De Winter, who, alongside Christoph Waltz as Cardinal Richelieu and Orlando Bloom as the Duke of Buckingham, plan to engulf Europe in a war. The movie also stars Matthew Macfayden, Ray Stevenson and Luke Evans as the titular Three Musketeers Athos, Porthos and Aramis.

"The Three Musketeers" novel, which was written by Alexandre Dumas has had several film adaptations in the past including a 1948 film with Gene Kelly and a 1993 version starring Charlie Sheen, Kiefer Sutherland and Chris O'Donnell.
