Miley Cyrus to guest star on 'Two and a Half Men'
Miley Cyrus is set to guest star on "Two and a Half Men," which will mark her first television acting role since her Disney Channel show "Hannah Montana" ended in 2011.
Cyrus, 19, will appear on two episodes of the CBS comedy series, which returns for its 10th season on September 27, and play a love interest for Jake, the network said in a statement on Monday.
Her character, Missi, is described as an old family friend of Walden, played by Ashton Kutcher, 34. Missi visits him and his family for a week and begins a relationship with Jake, played by 18-year-old Angus T. Jones, who has returned home from the army.
A CBS spokesperson told OnTheRedCarpet.com that the dates for the specific episodes set to feature Cyrus have not yet been announced and that she will not appear on the first episode of the new season. The premiere is, however, set to feature world-renowned singer Michael Bolton, who plays himself, as well as "True Blood" actress Brit Morgan, who portrays a woman Walden meets at a bar.
Cyrus began her acting career when she was eight and rose to fame with her title role on "Hannah Montana," which ended in 2011 after four seasons. She returned to television earlier this year by guest starring as herself on the MTV prank series "Punk'd," a revival of a show created by Kutcher.
In 2010, Cyrus starred in her first major film, "The Last Song," with boyfriend Liam Hemsworth. The two announced their engagement in June.
The actress later filmed the 2012 independent movie "LOL" with Kutcher's estranged wife, Demi Moore, and in the comedy film "So Undercover," which features Kelly Osbourne, Autumn Reeser and Jeremy Piven and is expected to be released later this year.
Cyrus, who shocked her fans earlier this month by trading in her long locks for a short, platinum blonde pixie cut, is also a pop star and is currently recording her fourth studio album, the follow-up to her 2010 record "Can't Be Tamed."
