Miley Cyrus suggests you should look into her eyes, when asked about her new, controversial music video "Wrecking Ball," in which she appears naked.

The clip broke a records -- it became the most-viewed video on VEVO -- but has been criticized by many people, who feel Cyrus' image has become too sexual. The video was posted weeks after Cyrus, who rose fame as the child star of the Disney Channel series "Hannah Montana," raised eyebrows with a racy "twerking" performance at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards.

"If people get past the point that I'm naked and you actually look at me, you can tell that I actually look more broken than even the song sounds," Cyrus said on Elvis Duran's morning radio show on Wednesday, Sept. 11.

The video depicts her naked at times, straddling a wrecking ball and licking a sledgehammer, while in other scenes, she wears a see-through tank top and bikini bottoms. "Wrecking Ball" is featured on her upcoming new album "Bangerz" and contains lyrics such as "I came in like a wrecking ball / I never hit so hard in love / All I wanted was to break your walls / All you ever did was break me / Yeah you, you wreck me."

"It's one of those songs that everyone's gonna relate to, everyone's felt that feeling at some point," Cyrus, who is engaged to actor Liam Hemsworth, said on the radio show. "But if people can take the minds off the obvious and go into their imagination a little bit and see kind of what the video really means and the way that it's so vulnerable."

"If you look in my eyes, I look more sad than actually my voice sounds on the record," she added. "It was a lot harder to actually do the video than it was to even record the song. It was much more of an emotional experience."

Update: Cyrus' father, Billy Ray Cyrus, recently shared his opinion about his daughter's latest controversial music video. Find out what he had to say about it here.

The clip has been viewed more than 44 million times, as of Tuesday afternoon.

"Directors cut of Wrecking Ball coming when this hits 150 million!" tweeted.
