Michelle Williams is Marilyn Monroe in 'My Week With Marilyn' film

(Photo courtesy of AP / Andrew Medichini) Michelle Williams is set to play iconic sex symbol Marilyn Monroe in the new film My Week With Marilyn, which depicts the late actress' 1956 film shoot of the movie The Prince and the Showgirl in London opposite Sir Laurence Olivier, who is portrayed by Kenneth Branagh.

The 30-year-old actress starred with late ex-husband Heath Ledger in the 2005 film Brokeback Mountain and rose to fame with the teen drama series Dawson's Creek. A photo of Williams in character as Monroe, who died unexpectedly in 1962 at age 36, was posted on People magazine's website.

My Week With Marilyn, set for release in 2011, also stars Harry Potter actress Emma Watson, Judi Dench and Dominic Cooper. Julia Ormond plays British actress Vivien Leigh.
