The Michael Jacskon estate and Epic Records have announced exciting news for fans of the beloved pop icon -- new music is coming!

Label executive L.A. Reid announced on March 31 that a new album, titled "Xscape," will feature eight new tracks that were recorded prior to Jackson's untimely death in 2009. The album will be available for pre-order on April 1, with an official release date set for May 13.

Conrad Murray, Michael Jackson's former doctor who was convicted in his death, was released from jail on Monday.

Conrad Murray was released from a downtown Los Angeles jail at 12:01 a.m., according to the sheriff's office. A change in California law allowed his incarceration time to be significantly cut down.

Michael Jackson is still proving to be a top-selling artist even years after his death.

The King of Pop landed in the No. 1 spot on Forbes list of top-earning dead celebrities, which was released on Wednesday, Oct. 23. The singer beat out celebs like Elvis Presley and Elizabeth Taylor to claim the top spot.

A Los Angeles jury has rejected a claim that concert promoter AEG Live was negligent in hiring Conrad Murray, the former doctor who caused Michael Jackson's 2009 death.

The verdict was announced on Wednesday, Oct. 2. The jury, made up of six women and six men, found that AEG Live hired Murray, who was in 2011 jailed for involuntary manslaughter, but that he was not unfit or incompetent to perform work for which he was hired.

A jury has reached a verdict in the civil negligence case over the 2009 death of Michael Jackson, which pitted his family against concert promoter AEG Live, five months after the trial began.

The news was announced on Wednesday, Oct. 2. The verdict will be read at 6:30 p.m. ET (3:30 p.m. PT).

Michael Jackson's eldest son, Prince Jackson recently testified at the wrongful death trial his family is currently involved in with AEG Live, a concert promotion company that had organized a London tour Michael was preparing for before he died in 2009.

The Jackson family claims the company hired Conrad Murray, the singer's private doctor who was jailed in 2011 for involuntary manslaughter over his death. AEG Live denies any wrongdoing.
