Michael Jackson remembered on death anniversary: Singer gets Hollywood star (1984 video)

06/25/2012 by Corinne Heller

June 25 marks the third anniversary of Michael Jackson's shocking death.

The King of Pop died at age 50 from an accidental overdose of the anesthetic propofol and other medications in his rented Los Angeles mansion. During his legendary solo career, Jackson won 13 Grammys and 13 of his songs hit No. 1 on the U.S. singles chart. And on Nov. 20, 1984, the year he released his iconic song "Thriller," the singer earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

In January of this year, Jackson's children, Prince, Paris and Blanket, honored their late father by immortalizing his handprints and footprints at a ceremony at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. Check out photos from the event, which also featured a performance from teen pop star Justin Bieber, one of Paris' favorite singers. You can also watch videos from the ceremony above.

"RIP Michael Jackson .. Dad you will forever be in my heart," Paris Tweeted on Monday. "<3 i love you."
