Michael Douglas' son Cameron beaten in prison, report says
Michael Douglas' son Cameron Douglas was reportedly attacked at a federal prison in Loretto, Pennsylvania, where he is currently serving time.
Cameron Douglas was sentenced in 2010 to five years in federal prison for drug distribution and heroin possession. In December 2011 he was sentenced to an addition four and a half years after being caught in prison with heroin and a prescription medication, according to a May 2012 article in The New York Times.
The New York Post reports that 34-year-old Cameron Douglas suffered a broken leg and finger after an alleged crime-family captain put a $100 bounty on the actor's son for "being a 'rat.'" The report also states that the young Douglas broke his femur but told staff members that he received the injuries playing handball.
The newspaper report states that Cameron Douglas was exposed as a source after his psychiatrist let it slip that Douglas agreed to testify against the suppliers of his drugs during a bail hearing in 2010.
Cameron Douglas has long battled issues with substance abuse. He is the son of actor Michael Douglas and his ex-wife Diandra Douglas. Michael Douglas, the son of actor Kirk Douglas, also has two children with wife Catherine Zeta-Jones.
Cameron starred with his father as well as with grandfather Kirk Douglas in the 2003 film "It Runs In The Family."
