Michael Cera had skateboards broken over head for 'Scott Pilgrim vs. the World'
Michael Cera's latest film Scott Pilgrim vs. the World has him fighting the "seven evil exes" of the girl of his dreams, but his toughest challenger was even more of a headache.
"I had skateboards broken over my head in this film and the skateboard is supposed to explode on impact," he said. "We did it like three times and it didn't break - it just knocked me to my knees. Eventually they just animated it."
The film, which also stars Jason Schwartzman, is based on a graphic novels by Bryan Lee O'Malley. The movie hit theaters on August 13."I don't think you need to be a fan of graphic novels or know this particular series of books to enjoy this film. It's just a fun, romantic, action comedy extravaganza. it's purely just fun and unusual. I don't think anyone has really ever seen anything quite like this," Schwartzman said.
Cera rose to fame in 2003, when he starred in the cult series Arrested Development. He later went on to star in the films Superbad and Juno. Schwartzman is known for films such as The Darjeeling Limited and Rushmore.
