Meryl Streep set to present at 84th Academy Awards

Meryl Streep has been named as another presenter at the 84th Academy Awards on February 26, telecast producers announced on February 22. The actress is up for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance in "The Iron Lady." Streep has been nominated a total 17 times and has won an award twice. She first won an Oscar in 1979 for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for "Kramer vs. Kramer" and a second time in 1982 for Best Actress in a Leading Role for "Sophie's Choice." Streep is also known for her performances in "Doubt," "The Devil Wears Prada," "Julie & Julia," "The Bridges of Madison County," "Silkwood," and "Out of Africa." Streep joins the list of other presenters, which include Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis, Michael Douglas, Tina Fey, Kermit, Miss Piggy, Halle Berry, Bradley Cooper, Chris Rock, Tom Cruise, Penelope Cruz, Cameron Diaz, Tom Hanks, Angelina Jolie, Rose Bryne, Milla Jovovich, Ellie Kemper, Jennifer Lopez, Melissa McCarthy, Wendy McLendon-Covey, Maya Rudolph, Ben Stiller, Kristen Wiig and Emma Stone. Cirque du Soleil will also debut an exclusive performance at the ceremony. It will feature the largest Cirque cast ever assembled for a single act and will be accompanied by music from Oscar-nominated composer Danny Elfman.
