Meredith Baxter of 'Family Ties' weds partner Nancy Locke
Meredith Baxter, best known for her role on the 1980's comedy series "Family Ties," has married her longtime partner, Nancy Locke.
The 66-year-old actress wed Locke in an intimate ceremony in Los Angeles on Sunday, Dec. 8, in front of close friends and family, including Baxter's five children, People magazine reported on Monday. Locke's band also performed, the outlet said. Baxter's spokesperson confirmed the report to OTRC.com.
She and Locke have been together for seven years, People magazine said. The actress came out publicly as a lesbian in December 2009. This marks the fourth marriage for Baxter, who has three ex-husbands. Her five children are from her previous marriages to her second and third husbands.
Baxter rose to fame playing Elyse Keaton, mother of Michael J. Fox's character Alex P. Keaton, on the sitcom "Family Ties," which aired between 1982 and 1989. She later reprised her role on the animated comedy series "Family Guy." She has also appeared on shows such as "Cold Case," "Switched At Birth," "Glee" and earlier this year, ABC's "The Neighbors," in which she and "Family Matters" alum Reginald VelJohnson played Jackie's parents.
