Mena Suvari files for divorce from Simone Sestito

Mena Suvari filed for a divorce from her husband of 18 months, Italian-Canadian concert producer Simone Sestito on January 13, 2012.

In the court papers, Suvari cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split and listed the date of separation at November 1, 2011, according to People magazine. She also asked that her husband receive no spousal support.

Suvari and Sestito met at the Toronto Film Festival in 2007 and got engaged the following year.

The couple got married in a private chapel in the Vatican City, Italy June 2010. They have no children.

Suvari was previously married to cinematographer Robert Brinkmann, but they finalized their divorce in May 2005.

The actress is best known for her roles in "American Beauty" and the "American Pie" franchise. She is set to reprise her role as Heather in the fourth installment of the comedy films, "American Reunion."

Suvari recently appeared on the hit FX series "American Horror Story" as Elizabeth Short, or "The Black Dahlia."
