Melissa Gilbert talks 'Dancing With The Stars' elimination and 'amazing' experience - See video
Warning: Spoilers ahead! There were two eliminations on "Dancing With The Stars" on May 8. Roshon Fegan was the first celebrity to get the axe on Tuesday night's results episode, but former "Little House on the Prairie" star Melissa Gilbert said when she was standing underneath the red lights alongside Katherine Jenkins, she knew she'd be the one to get the boot.
"It would have been really, really unfair to see Katherine go home because of a glitch. A wardrobe malfunction," Gilbert told OnTheRedCarpet.com. Jenkins' pants got caught on her shoe during her Dance Trio but she was able to kick it off during the dance. "She's an extraordinary dancer. An extraordinary dancer and I told her before, 'It's not going to be you.'"
About her experience on the show, Gilbert said, "I learned so much about what I'm actually capable of, what my body is capable of, and it never would have happened had I not been here and had I had a different partner."
"It's going to be nice now to take a breath and really take it in because it's just been such a ride," she added.
The elimination also meant another season that Chmerkovskiy lost out on a chance to win the mirror ball trophy. However the pro dancer said, "I won the Gilbert in my life. I loved it."
"I'm not going to lie to you. I don't feel like this was a fan elimination," Chmerkovskiy later added. "I feel like it was a political campaign of some sort, but I'm not bitter about it, you know?"
"The four couples who are left are phenomenal," Chmerkovskiy said. "The dancer in me wants to see, you know, those couples challenge each other and next week's elimination is going to be crazy."
Maria Menounos, William Levy, Donald Driver and Katherine Jenkins head to next week's semi-finals. Who will be the next to go home? Who will win it all? Vote in our polls below!
