Mel Gibson ordered to pay $60,000 to Oksana Grigorieva in back child support
Mel Gibson was recently ordered to pay $60,000 in back child support to ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva following a custody hearing involving their infant daughter, Lucia.
Gibson had made headlines in recent months over the case and a leaked explicit, sexist and racist rant against her said to have been made by him during a January confrontation.
The two had sparred for months but had reached a private agreement over the custody case, the Associated Press said, adding Gibson's appearance in court on Wednesday marked the first time the actor appeared in person at a hearing on the matter.
The judge also allowed Grigorieva to live in the actor's home in the Los Angeles suburb of Sherman Oaks rent-free with their daughter.
Meanwhile, authorities are continuing to investigate his claims that Grigorieva attempted to extort him earlier this year. He has denied her allegations of domestic abuse. No charges have been filed and no arrests have been made.
