Director Judd Apatow is revisiting some characters from his hit "Knocked Up" in a new film he's been crafting since last summer. In the new Apatow movie, Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann, who is also the writer's wife, will reprise their characters as a long time married couple facing relationship woes.

"I'm going to direct a movie this summer, which is a spin-off from 'Knocked Up,'" Apatow told OnTheRedCarpet.com at the 2011 Silver Circle Gala on February 28. "It's about the characters that Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann played and all of the issues of their marriage five years later."

It will be a family affair on set, according to Apatow, who revealed that his two daughters, Maude and Iris, will reprise their roles from "Knocked Up" as Mann and Rudd's daughters.

"This is how I pay for their college education," the writer/director joked. "I put them in movies and pay them SAG scale."

Megan Fox is reportedly in negotiations to star in the film, though what role she'll be playing is being kept under wraps, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Fox recently finished filming "Friends With Kids," starring opposite Jon Hamm, Adam Scott and Kristen Wiig.

The actress made headlines last summer when, according to her spokesperson, she chose not to return to the "Transformers" franchise after comparing director Michael Bay to Nazi leader Adolf Hitler. The 24-year-old actress played Mikaela Banes in the first 2007 live-action film as well as its sequel "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" in 2009, along with Shia LaBeouf.

"Megan Fox will not be starring in Transformers 3," People magazine quoted the actress' spokesperson as saying. "It was her decision not to return. She wishes the franchise the best."

A Paramount Pictures spokesperson said Fox's "option was not picked up for the third movie." There was no immediate comment from Bay's spokespeople. "Transformers 3" is set for release on July 1, 2011.
