Matthew Underwood of 'Zoey 101' arrested on drug charges
Matthew Underwood, best known for his role on the Nickelodeon series "Zoey 101" was arrested in Florida for drug charges.
The 22-year-old actor was arrested for suspicion of marijuana possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Police entered his home in Port St. Lucie, Florida on the morning of April 27, with a drug-related search warrant.
The minor in question was Underwood's 17-year-old girlfriend, who was in the master bedroom at the time of the arrest. Police found less than 20 grams of marijuana and "numerous smoking devices" in the home.
According to E! Online, Underwood admitted that the marijuana was his and that the drug paraphernalia belonged to him and his girlfriend.
Both Underwood and his female companion were taken into custody. The unnamed minor was released to her grandfather while Underwood left at around 12:56 p.m. after posting the $2,250 bail.
Underwood told TMZ that the cops had been bothering him since he got a permit to open a hookah lounge.
"They took all my hookahs... and now we have to push our opening back," Underwood told TMZ, adding, "The underage girl has been my girlfriend for the past year... I get that she's not exactly 18."
Underwood portrayed Logan Reese on the Nickelodeon series "Zoey 101," which also starred Britney Spears' little sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, who left the series when she was 16 years old, several months after announcing she was pregnant.
