"I don't have dreams as Big Momma but when I do see Big Momma," Lawrence told OnTheRedCarpet.com at the recent Los Angeles premiere. "It reminds me of my mother and my grandmother and so it always makes me feel good."

Lawrence, 45, has been executive producing and starring in the "Big Momma" franchise since 2000, when "Big Momma's House" came out. "Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son" is the third movie in the series and had a production budget of $32 million.

In the latest venture, Lawrence plays FBI agent Malcolm Turner who goes undercover at an all-girls performance art school after his 17-year-old son witnesses a murder. They pose as Big Momma and Charmaine while they track down the murderer who is already on their trail.

Lawrence knows a few things about fatherhood as the actor has two children with his current wife, Shamicka Gibbs and a daughter with his ex-wife, Patricia Southall. The actor acknowledged that this installment has some tender father-son moments.

"[They're] heartfelt moments because I'm trying to get my son to grow up. He wants to pursue his career and I'm trying to let him know that education is more important. Get your education, once you get your education, you can do anything after that."

Lawrence will be reprising his role as Detective Marcus Burnett in Michael Bay's "Bad Boys 3," which is still in the early stages of production. Lawrence said in a recent interview that Will Smith wants to return for the co-starring role of Detective Mike Lowrey.
