Mariska Hargitay, who plays Detective Benson on the show, confirmed in a Tweet on Saturday, May 25, that she will return next season.

Mariska Hargitay, who plays Detective Olivia Benson on "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," and her husband, Peter Hermann, have adopted a second child - a boy named Andrew Nicolas Hargitay Hermann, months after bringing home a baby girl.

Their new son was born this past summer, according to People magazine, which carried the report.

Eva Longoria and Tina Fey topped the Forbes Highest-Paid TV Actresses List this year, each earning $13 million between May 2010 and May 2011.

The ten women on the list earned a combined total of $94 million. Meanwhile, just the top three highest paid film actresses earned $88 million combined.

Mariska Hargitay, who plays Detective Olivia Benson on "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," might be spending less time on set, but the audience "will not notice," NBC announced on Monday.

"You will not notice anything," NBC Entertainment chairmen Robert Greenblatt said at the network's fall TV previews. The actress, who recently adopted a child, will instead be "lightening her load in terms of shooting days."

Jennifer Lopez and Jennifer Aniston were named among the celebrities who will be honored with stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for 2012, the Walk of Fame Committee of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced on Wednesday.

Stars in the arenas of Motion Pictures, Television, Radio and Recording were selected to receive stars among hundreds of nominations to the committee at a meeting held on June 17 and approved by the Chamber's Board of Directors.

Mariska Hargitay, who plays Detective Olivia Benson on "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" has said that she will 'terribly' miss her co-star Christopher Meloni, who will not return on the show's 13th season.

"For the past 12 years Chris has been my partner and friend, both on screen and off," Hargitay told TV Line. "He inspired me every day with his integrity, his extraordinary talent and his commitment to the truth. I love him deeply and will miss him terribly - I'm so excited to see what he'll do next."

Mariska Hargitay, of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," says that since adopting she adopted her baby girl, Amaya Josephine, she's had to learn a new skill for parenting two children.

"It's a new skill to have two children that want you at the same time," Hargitay told People magazine on Tuesday during an event for her Joyful Heart Foundation, which provides support to women who have been sexually abused.

Actress Jennifer Love Hewitt is reportedly in talks for a detective role on the NBC drama "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit."

Hewitt guest starred on the show in a November episode this season playing a rape victim. Hewitt could be up for a detective role because a new deal signed by series star Mariska Hargitay, who plays Detective Olivia Benson, will have her character take on a reduced role.

Mariska Hargitay of the crime series "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" recently revealed that she and husband Peter Hermann adopted a baby girl, Amaya Josephine.

Their daughter, who is the couple's second child, is a week old and was born in the United States.
