Mario Lopez writing a children's book due out in September
Actor and TV show host Mario Lopez is writing a children's book, according to the Associated Press.
Lopez's new book will be titled "Mario and Baby Gia," named after his daughter Gia Francesca with girlfriend Courtney Mazza. Celebra Children's Books announced on Thursday that the book will hit shelves on September 27.
The 37-year-old is best known for his role as A.C. Slater on "Saved by the Bell." He also the entertainment show "Extra."
This isn't Lopez's first venture into the publishing world. His previous credits include the fitness books "Knockout Fitness," "Extra Lean" and "Extra Lean Life."
Lopez and Mazza, 29, met in 2008 while starring in the musical "A Chorus Line" on Broadway. Gia, who was born in September 2010, is the couple's first child together. He said in March that he and Mazza were "looking forward" to marriage "later on."
Lopez's past relationships include a two-week marriage to actress Ali Landry in 2004. He also dated professional dancer Karina Smirnoff, his partner on ABC series "Dancing With the Stars," between 2006 and 2008.
