Mariah Carey reveals she's expecting a boy and a girl
Mariah Carey is getting the best of both worlds. The singing superstar revealed to Life & Style that she's carrying a boy and a girl.
"Even before we announced it was twins, I was trying to keep everything gender neutral because I didn't want to impose an identity on them too soon," Carey told the magazine. "There were fan contests on Twitter about what gender they are and rumors about them being two boys or two girls - but nobody guessed this!"
Her husband Nick Cannon confirmed her comments to E! News saying, "If my wife says it's true, then it is."
Carey, 40, announced in October she was pregnant and was set to give birth in the spring of 2011. She also said she had suffered a miscarriage two years ago.
"She shared with the President and the First Lady that we are having twins," the Reuters news wite quoted Cannon, a 30-year-old rapper and host of "America's Got Talent", as saying on his "Rollin' with Nick Cannon" program on the CBS Radio-owned 92.3 NOW station, referencing the recent "Christmas in Washington" concert, during which his wife performed before Barack Obama and his wife Michelle.
"I haven't even told my wife I was doing this, so I am probably going to get yelled at for not getting permission," Cannon said.
The twins will be the first children for Carey and Cannon, who married in 2008.
