Mariah Carey releases new song 'You're Mine (Eternal)' (Audio, Poll)
Mariah Carey treated her fans with a Valentine's Day surprise -- a new song!
Carey released "You're Mine (Eternal)" to radio and iTunes on Feb. 12. The track will be featured on her much-delayed 14th studio album "The Art of Letting Go," set to be released on May 6. The full song can be heard below.
Carey tweeted about the release of the single to her more than 14 million Twitter followers, saying, "You're Mine (Eternal) on iTunes NOW + Remix ft. @TreySongz." The remix for the track can be heard here.
"You're Mine (Eternal)" is a mid-tempo R&B track, which finds Carey singing about a lover she refuses to give up. Lyrics for the song include, "I can't seem to live without your love / Suffocating here by myself dying for your touch."
The song is melodically similar to recent mid-tempo songs recorded by Carey, including "Touch My Body," "I Stay In Love" and "Candy Bling."
Carey's album "The Art of Letting Go" has been delayed several times over the course of the past two years before receiving its May 6 release date. The singer has put out the songs "#Beautiful" and "The Art of Letting Go" in recent months, both of which are to be included on the album. "#Beautiful," which features R&B artist Miguel, peaked at No. 15 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.
