Marcia Gay Harden files for divorce from Thaddaeus Scheel
Marcia Gay Harden recently filed for divorce from Thaddaeus Scheel, her husband of 15 years and the father of their three children, OnTheRedCarpet.com has learned.
The 52-year-old actress, who won an Oscar for the 2000 film "Pollock," and Scheel, 47, married in July 1996. They are parents to daughter Eulala, 13, and twins Hudson and Julitta, who are 7.
"Marcia Gay Harden officially confirms that she has filed for divorce from Thaddaeus Scheel," the actress' spokesperson told OnTheRedCarpet.com. "For the sake of the couple's three children, Harden would like to request that the family's privacy be respected at this time. No further comments will be made on this matter, and we thank you for your understanding."
No details where offered as to when the two split or where Harden filed divorce papers. The couple has in recent years resided in both Southern California and New York. Scheel was a film prop master in the 1990s and met Harden while working on the set of the 1996 film "The Spitfire Grill."
Harden is also known for her role in the 2003 movie "Mystic River," which earned her an Oscar nomination. She won a Tony in 2009 for her part in the Broadway play "God of Carnage." Harden has also appeared in films such as "Meet Joe Black," "The First Wives Club," "Into The Wild" and "The Mist." She had recurring roles on shows such as "Damages" and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit."
In January, she appeared on an episode of the ABC show "Body of Proof." Harden has several projects in the works, including the film "Back Roads" with "Spider-Man" actor Andrew Garfield and Jennifer Garner. In May, she can be seen in the movie "If I Were You," with Aiden Quinn.
