"Machete Kills," Robert Rodriguez's sequel to the hit 2010 action-adventure film "Machete," hit theaters on Friday, Oct. 11, and stars Danny Trejo, who plays the title role, as well as former "Spy Kids" actress Alexa Vega, Mel Gibson, Sofia Vergara, Charlie Sheen and more.

OTRC.com chatted with several cast members at the premiere. Check out excerpts from the interviews below and watch the videos above for the extended versions.

Alexa Vega on playing a more "grown-up," sexy role: "The way Robert [Rodriguez] shoots women in all of his films, I mean, he makes them so sexy. He definitely empowers them, I mean when you look at all the women: Salma [Hayek], Jessica [Alba], Michelle [Rodriguez], all these women that have come of out these films are just like, heartbreakers, they're gorgeous. So I'm hoping to continue to grow and to take on other really awesome roles that he does."

Danny Trejo on what fans can expect from the sequel: "If you enjoyed 'Machete,' 'Machete Kills' makes that movie look like something that came from 'The Littlest Mermaids.' I mean, it is non-stop action. Me and Jessica Alba kill about 25 people in the first three minutes, you know, just for starters. And then it goes up from there. It's a rollercoaster of action. It was so much fun making it. You've got everybody in it, Sofia Vergara, you've got Mel [points to Mel Gibson]. Hello!"

Mel Gibson on his role as a villain: "Everyone calls him a villain but I don't get that. I think he's just a really nice guy who's misunderstood."

Director Robert Rodriguez on the film's title: "You know, we pronounce it like four or five different ways so that everyone's pronunciation is right. I actually like Mel's [Gibson] pronunciation, 'Mr. Machete.' We say all of them. It's interchangeable. That's what's great about the title is that it works in English and Spanish and French. It works in so many different languages because it's the same word in both languages. That's what's cool about it."
