Country music legend Loretta Lynn has been released from the hospital after being treated for bacterial pneumonia, according to a statement on her official website.

The 76-year-old singer was admitted to a hospital in Bowling Green, Kentucky on Saturday, October 22 after canceling performances at the Performing Arts Center in Ashland, Kentucky, on October 22 and one on October 23 in Durham, North Carolina.

"Around 1:30 a.m. Saturday morning, Loretta awoke on her tour bus complaining that she was having a hard time breathing," Lynn's spokesperson said in a statement.

Lynn is currently is resting at her home in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee. "It was one scary night," the singer said in a statement. "But I am feeling better and just gonna take it easy for a couple of weeks."

The legendary singer is set to return to the stage on November 3 in Knoxville, Tennessee.

This is not the first time this year that Lynn has had to cancel a series of shows. In August, she canceled tour dates because of knee surgery, according to the wire service. Before that, she was forced to cancel shows in Ohio and Connecticut because she was hospitalized for heat exhaustion.

Lynn has had several hits in a career that spans over 50 years, starting with "Coal Miner's Daughter" in 1969. Other hit songs include "You Ain't Woman Enough," "The Pill" and "One's on the Way." Many of her songs reflected her pride in her humble background as the daughter of a Kentucky coal miner and her experiences as a wife and mother.

In 1980 the singer's life was featured into a biopic starring Sissy Spacek as Lynn. The film was based off Lynn's 1977 autobiography and the role earned Spacek's an Oscar for Best Actress.

Lynn is up for a Country Music Association award next month for her collaboration with Sheryl Crow and Miranda Lambert on a new edition of "Coal Miner's Daughter."

The 45th annual CMA awards will air live November 9 from Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on ABC.
