Lindsay Lohan defends herself on Twitter, spokesperson talks teeth rumors
Lindsay Lohan is making headlines once again for rumors that she has not put enough hours into the community service requirement of her probation and for some unflattering photos of her teeth that surfaced online last week.
The 25-year-old actress was ordered to do community service at a women's shelter and in a morgue for her probation stemming from her 2007 drunken driving case. TMZ reported last week the actress missed several of her scheduled visits to the women's shelter and when she did appear, she was working less than her required time.
ABC News confirmed with Lohan's spokesperson on Monday, October 17, that the actress is now doing her community service with the Los Angeles branch of the Red Cross. The spokesperson did not make any further comments about Lohan's community service requirements.
Lohan alluded to the reports when she wrote on her Twitter page Friday, "I am not to be made an example of anymore. I am working hard and fulfilling my obligations every single day, to the court as well as myself. "
"If I travel, its for work and its been approved," she added. "As is anything I do when I leave the state. I'd appreciate it if people will just let me do what is asked of me, so that I can get my life back. Please ignore the reports which have no truth to them. Thank you."
Back in July during a progress report for her probation, Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner warned Lohan that she had to expedite the progress of her of required community service hours and that the actress will not be given more time to complete her hours, even if she is working on a film.
In addition to her community service, Lohan was also ordered to undergo psychological counseling, attend a Shoplifter's Alternative course and pay several fines.
The judge also warned the actress that she also had enrolled psychological counseling. If she fails prove she has enrolled in counseling, Judge Sautner will automatically revoke her probation and schedule a formal hearing.
The actress also made headlines last week when she was photographed on the red carpet in Los Angeles with teeth that looked yellow and stained.
"I think of all the things going on in the world today -- from deteriorating public education to rampant homelessness to political unrest -- there is no way I'm going to comment on Lindsay's teeth," her spokesperson told ABC News on Monday.
"I get a lot of calls asking me to confirm absurd things about Lindsay," the spokesperson added. "But this thing with the teeth has to be the most absurd."
The actress was recently sued by Elite Transportation Limo and Security Services for $90,000. The company claims she reserved limos for her friends and family and used the company's services herself between February and May of 2009, but did not pay for them.
