Lindsay Lohan announces new film at Sundance Film Festival
Lindsay Lohan continues to make strides toward a career comeback.
The actress announced on Jan. 20 at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah her plans to star and produce a new film, titled "Inconceivable," according to The Associated Press.
Lohan, 27, made the announcement in front of reporters and cameras following her for the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) documentary series, titled "Lindasy," expressing her excitement over the new project.
"I've never had the honor of coming here before...to bring something to the table, which is starting fresh for me," Lohan said at the Sundance Film Festival. "And I'm filming my Oprah docu-series right now, so I get to that to the people who have been watching that as well."
"It's a nice change to be back among people that are in the industry that I've been in since I was a kid," she added.
Lohan described the movie to reporters as a psychological thriller about a woman trying to reclaim something she lost, saying that in many ways she could "relate to the character." The actress also said it was "therapeutic" to take on the role of producer as opposed to just acting in the film.
"It's therapeutic for me to throw myself into something that really excites me and something that I love to do so much," she said. "There's nothing better than having seen all of your ideas and thoughts that you've been thinking about to come to fruition and to share that with people. I think that's why I've always loved making movies so much. So it's nice to be able to have another position in the film rather than just showing up and being on the set."
Lohan also said she approached actress Juliette Lewis to appear in the film and would lists "American Horror Story" star Jessica Lange as her dream co-star.
Lohan completed her most recent rehab stint in July 2013, stemming from numerous run ins with the law that date back to 2007. Her road to personal and professional rebirth will be documented on the OWN documentary series "Lindsay" beginning March 9.
