Lil Wayne says he's 'fine,' following 'seizure' report
Lil Wayne is "fine," according to a Tweet that was posted on his official Twitter account after reports claimed that the rapper suffered another seizure.
On Wednesday, May 1, TMZ reported that the 30-year-old rapper was hospitalized in Los Angeles on Tuesday night after he suffered a seizure. According to the report, he was later released Wednesday morning.
"I'm fine. Thank u," he Tweeted at 11:23 a.m. on Wednesday.
In March, spokespeople for the rapper, as well as several of his labelmates, said that he was "doing well," following a TMZ report that said he was in critical condition in a medical center's ICU. Wayne talked about the incident in late March and revealed that he sufferers from epilepsy and that he was treated at a medical center after suffering three seizures in a row.
"The thing is, man, the bad news is, I'm an epileptic. I'm prone to seizures. This isn't my first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh seizure. I've had a bunch of seizures. Ya'll just never hear about them," Wayne said during an interview with the radio station Power 106 FM in Los Angeles. "But this time, it got real bad because I had three of them in a row and then [during] the third one, my heart rate went down to like 30 percent, basically. Basically, I could've died, so that is why it was so serious."
"So that was why it was so serious. But the reason being for the seizures is just plain stress, no rest, overworking myself. That's just typical me, though."
Lil Wayne recently released his tenth studio album titled "I Am Not a Human Being II." He is set to go on tour with T.I. and Future starting on July 9 in Birmingham, Ala. The tour ends on September 1 in Irvine, Calif.
