Lil Wayne denied (front row) tickets for Thunder-Spurs NBA finals game, complains
Lil Wayne was upset after being denied tickets to the Thunder-Spurs NBA finals game on May 31, but left out the fact that he was only interested in front row seats.
"Was going to go to the Thunder game tonight but was denied by the team to be in their arena. Wow. Smh [shaking my head]. Go Spurs!" Lil Wayne Tweeted on May 31, 2012.
Thunder spokesman Dan Mahoney confirmed to the Associated Press that Lil Wayne's representatives contacted the team seeking tickets, but added that they insisted that the 29-year-old rapper sit on the front row, but none of those seats were available.
Oklahoma City sold out every home game during the regular season and playoffs this season. Mahoney said, "We'd love to have him at a game, but like anyone else, he needs a ticket."
Meanwhile, Thunder's starter Kevin Durant said he had two tickets for Saturday's game and according to USA Today, told his teammates, "We need people like that around here."
Lil Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., released his latest album, "Tha Carter IV," on August 29, 2011. In March 2010, Lil Wayne began serving an 8-month prison sentence in New York for a 2007 felony gun conviction.
