Leonardo Dicaprio's restraining order against 'wife' extended for three years
Leonardo DiCaprio's restraining order against Livia Bistriceanu, a "delusional" woman who referred to herself as his wife and who sought a father for "Jesus", has been extended for three years.
"Dear husband, Leo, I am your wife and it would be nice of you to talk to me as I ask you," she wrote in a June 2010 letter, one of several sent over the past four years and filed with DiCaprio's order, filed at a Los Angeles court last month.
DiCaprio, 35, said he did not know the woman, whom said expressed "delusional thoughts and irrational feelings" and had no desire to be in contact with her. The court last month granted a temporary order against Bistriceanu and said she must stay at least 100 yards away from DiCaprio. She has not commented on the ruling and it is unclear if the woman has a child.
"Given this obsessive and harassing behavior, I am frightened of Ms. Bistriceanu and feel that my personal safety and the personal safety of those around me, is in jeopardy," he said in his filing.
DiCaprio was a teen pin-up in the 1990s and became an overnight sensation with the movie Titanic in 1997. He recently starred in the sci-fi thriller Inception and placed fifth on Forbes' recent list of highest paid actors. DiCaprio earned $28 million between June 2009 and June 2010 stands to earn $50 million in 2010 for Inception alone.
