Lenny Kravitz appears in new clip for 'The Hunger Games - Watch
The first preview of Lenny Kravitz as Cinna in "The Hunger Games" has hit the Web on March 7.
The rock star plays a fan-favorite character named Cinna, the stylist of the film's main character, Katniss Everdeen, played by Jennifer Lawrence. Cinna creates show-stopping designs for Katniss leading up to the Hunger Games.
The characters live in a post-apocalyptic North America, which is now called Panem. In the book, the Hunger Games are an annual televised event put on by the government in Capitol city, where a boy and a girl from each of the 13 districts fight to the death.
The clip shows the first time Cinna and Katniss meet. It can be seen below.
"When I saw Lenny's work in 'Precious' I was just knocked out. It was quiet and strong and understated and open hearted; all qualities which define this character," director Gary Ross said in a statement on Monday, May 23, when Kravitz's casting was first announced. "I'm really looking forward to this ride."
Kravitz, 47, was previously seen in the film "Precious." He also appeared in "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly" and "Zoolander." He's a Grammy-winning musician, known for songs such as "Fly Away." His ninth studio album, "Black and White America," was released in August. In November, the singer and musician received a top award in France, the Legion of Honor.
"The Hunger Games" hits theaters on March 23, 2012. Check out the clip of Lenny Kravitz and the trailer below.
