Leah Remini is leaving 'The Talk' while Kris Jenner guest co-hosts
Leah Remini is leaving the CBS morning talk show "The Talk," the former "King of Queens" star confirmed on Twitter.
"It is official: I am sorry to say that I have NOT been asked back on the show," Remini wrote on the social networking site on Thursday evening. "Sorry to my fans. U worked so hard! I adore u guys."
Remini told a fan on the site that no reason was given for the decision. There is no news on who will take Remini's spot, but Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner will be filling in for Sharon Osbourne for two weeks at the start of the new season and will also cover for Osbourne when she is not available.
Jenner also stars in the E! series "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" and manages the careers of her daughters -- Kim, Kourtney, Khloe Kardashian and Kendall Jenner.
"Hi dolls!!! I'm so excited to tell you that I have been invited by the producers of 'The Talk' to guest co-host for two weeks in September," Kris Jenner wrote on her official website. "I can't wait to join the ladies and I know this will be such a fun experience." According to the Associated Press, comedian and radio personality Sheryl Underwood is also slated to appear as guest-host for two weeks when "The Talk" returns in September. Underwood is currently a contributor to Steve Harvey's morning radio show and describes herself as "a sexually progressive God-fearing black Republican."
The first season of "The Talk" was co-hosted by Sara Gilbert, Julie Chen, Remini, Holly Robinson Peete and Sharon Osbourne. The Associated Press reported that Peete would also not return for the second season.
It was announced on Wednesday that Gilbert had split up with her girlfriend of ten years, Allison Adler. The former "Roseanne" actress and Adler will share custody of their two children -- son Levi Hank, born to Adler in October 2004 and a daughter, Sawyer, born to Gilbert on August 2, 2007.
"The Talk" will debut its second season on September 6 with returning hosts Osbourne, Gilbert and Chen.
