LeAnn Rimes is reportedly suing her dentist and claims that the botched dental work caused her pain and affected her ability to perform. The 30-year-old singer filed a lawsuit on Thursday, February 14, E! News reports. She claims the dentist not only misdiagnosed her dental problems, but also gave her veneers that were of "poor shape, size and color," according to the lawsuit obtained by the outlet. Rimes reportedly underwent dental work by the dentist named in the lawsuit from December 2009 to April 2012. The dentist subsequently replaced the veneers with a permanent crown, which caused her to develop "tooth pain, gum inflammation and chronic gum bleeding." Within two weeks of getting the crowns, Rimes claims that she had to have emergency root canal procedures. She also had eight of the faulty crowns removed, bone grafting, nine root canal treatments, as well as other dental procedures to correct the faulty dental work. Rimes claims as a result of her dental problems she has suffered physical pain and psychological/emotional damage and that her ability to perform "has been and will continue to significantly compromised until all re-treatment is completed." The singer is seeking unspecified damages for the injuries, damages for dental, medical and incidental expenses and loss of earnings and earning capacity. Rimes has not publicly commented on the lawsuit. The singer, who recently sported a new haircut, has a new album called "Spitfire" that is expected to hit stores April 30.
