LeAnn Rimes says photo of fake proposal from Eddie Cibrian a Halloween joke

LeAnn Rimes says a photo of her covering her mouth in as boyfriend Eddie Cibrian appears to get down and propose to her was meant to be a joke for Halloween.

"Ok, it was "TRICK-or treat" right!" Rimes wrote on her Twitter page on Monday. "@eddiecibrian and I were having a little fun. That pic was taken at Universal City walk right before a private event I did there earlier this month. @eddiecibrian is WAY more romantic than to proper to me in front of a 'lunatic' sign."

"Just thought it was too funny not to share a little 'TRICK!!'" the Country and pop singer said about the picture, which was posted by Cibrian. "We're happy as can be and had the best Halloween! Hope you guys did too!!! It was just a practice run! Lol."

The relationship between Rimes, 28, and Cibrian, 37, has often been criticized because the two began dating while they were married to other people. Rimes' divorce from chef Dean Sheremet was finalized in June. He had filed the papers last year amid reports Rimes and Cibrian, who met while filming the 2009 Lifetime movie Northern Lights, were having an affair.

Cibrian finalized his divorce from model Brandi Glanville in early October. He moved in with Rimes in Los Angeles' San Fernando Valley over the summer.

"I think any relationship is hard to get out of, and I don't think the way I did it was right. It wasn't a fulfilling marriage for either of us," Rimes recently told Shape magazine said about her eight-year relationship with Sheremet. "As we got older, we grew apart."
