The singer wrote back to a fan on Wednesday when asked if she saw a tabloid article about her weight saying, "I don't care about the dumb articles. I know how healthy I am. Maybe those people should start taking care of themselves...inside and out."
Rimes later told another fan, "I take care of myself, eat what I want without putting crap into my body and am at a healthy weight."
Back in September, Rimes donned the cover of Shape magazine and talked about her workout habits, saying, "Going to the gym and punching out some of my aggression on a pair of mitts has been a lifesaver. Sometimes I felt so depressed I didn't want to get out of bed, so just getting to the gym -- even for a few minutes -- was a big accomplishment. "
She added, "It really did make me feel better and kind of saved me. It gave me a bit of sanity. Even now, on days when I'm really frustrated, I'll walk into the gym and say to my trainer, 'We're doing a boxing workout today. For an hour. I need to hit things.'"
"I'm serious about my exercise. I don't just doodle around," she said. "I see people at the gym talking on their cell phones. If they think their bodies are really going to change...I mean, you've got to put in the effort! "
As for Rimes' eating habits, the singer shared her breakfast with fans on Tuesday Tweeting, "Breakfast...poached eggs, whole wheat toast and Italian ham w/ fresh berries!"
