Laurence Fishburne to leave 'CSI'
Laurence Fishburne will not reprise his role as Robert Langston on the long-running drama series "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation."
The actor's spokesperson confirmed to OnTheRedcarpet.com on Wednesday, June 8, that Fishburne, 49, "chose not to return" to the series. CBS has not commented on the matter, which was first reported by Deadline.com.
Fishburne joined "CSI" in mid-season in 2009, after series star, William Petersen, left his role as Gil Grissom in December 2009. The actor, who is likely best known for his role in "The Matrix" franchise, chose not to renew his contract for the new season, according to the site. He has been on the show for two seasons.
"CSI" wrapped up its 11th season on May 12 and has been renewed for a 12th season.
Marg Helgenberger, who has played crime-scene investigator supervisor Catherine Willows on the show for 11 seasons, is expected to return next season in a reduced role, according to Entertainment Weekly.
