Larry Hagman, Patrick Duffy and Linda Gray return for new 'Dallas' pilot
Larry Hagman is set to reprise his iconic television role of J.R. Ewing in TNT's new "Dallas" pilot, the network said in a statement released on Tuesday.
Also returning are Hagman's former co-stars Patrick Duffy and Linda Gray, who will reprise their roles of J.R. Ewing's younger brother Bobby and J.R. Ewing's wife Sue Ellen Ewing.
The show will be an update of the popular prime time soap opera that ran from 1978 to 1991. It will follow J.R. Ewing's son John Ross and the adopted son of Bobby Ewing, Christopher. According to the statement, the two boys will "clash over the future of the family dynasty."
"Desperate Housewives actor Josh Henderson has been cast as John Ross and "The Fast & the Furious" franchise actress Jordana Brewster will play Elena, a woman in the middle of a love triangle with John and Christopher.
The original show debuted in April 1978 as a five-part miniseries on CBS and was famous for cliffhangers like the "Who Shot J.R.?" storyline.
