Lark Voorhies of 'Saved By the Bell' shows off new look
"Saved by the Bell" actress Lark Voorhies has largely stayed out of the spotlight over the years since her role in the 2001 film "How High" and recently caught fans up to what she has been up to in an interview that surfaced earlier this week.
The 38-year-old actress appeared on Yahoo!'s OMG! series "The Yo Show" with host Michael Yo and sent fans buzzing over her new appearance. The interview can be seen below.
In the photos above, Voorhies is shown during a news conference Nov. 15, 1997, in Washington, DC on the left. On the right, Voorhies is seen in a still from her recent interview.
The actress is known for her role on "Saved by the Bell" as rich Valley girl Lisa Turtle. Voorhies first played Turtle on the television series "Good Morning, Miss Bliss" from 1988 to 1989. The show later went on to be revamped and became "Saved by the Bell," which ran from 1989 to 1993.
Voorhies told Yo that she's been "very busy" and added, "I have got a new company, it's called Yo Soy productions and it's got a brand new film, 'The Hope for Pandora's Box.'"
"I wrote, direct, produced, starred in," she said about the movie.
Voorhies and her former "Saved by the Bell" co-stars reunited for a People magazine spread in 2009. However, Voorhies said she wouldn't be against another reunion.
"I really honestly believe that if it did happen it wouldn't be a bad thing," she said. She also denied rumors that she dated co-star Mark Paul Gosselaar.
"No, we were all that close," Voorhies said about the alleged romance. "We just had a great chemistry and it registers very powerfully."
According to Entertainment Weekly, Voorhies will also appear on a VH1 series called "Miss You Much" in September. The series gathers former television, music and film stars who have stepped out of the spotlight over the years and interviews them to inform fans what they have been up to.
Other celebrities set to appear on the series including "Baywatch" actor Jeremy Jackson, 98 Degrees singer Jeff Timmons and "Growing Pains" actor Jeremy Miller.
