Lamar Odom tweeted for the first time in months on Tuesday, Sept. 24, about his "dark time" and lashed out at his father, Joe Odom, for allegedly making comments criticizing Lamar's wife, Khole Kardashian Odom, and her family.

"Won't continue 2 speak on this but I have got 2 let this out real quick," Lamar wrote in a tweet sent from his verified account. The tweet links to a longer message (Warning: Link contains expletives).

"I have let this man and many others get away with a lot of [expletive]. He wasn't there 2 raise me. He was absent ALL of my life due to his own demons. My mother and grandmother raised me. Queens raised me," Lamar wrote. "For the first time since they left, came a blessing of a FAMILY that I married into. FAMILY. That man wasn't even invited to my wedding. He has never met my mother in law and some of my other family."

"How can a man who has NOT once called me to check on my well being have the nerve to talk so recklessly about his own 'son.' He is my downfall! His own demons may be the ONLY thing he gave 2 me," he added. "He disrespecting the ONLY FAMILY that has loved me without expecting anything in return. They are the ONLY ones that have been here consistently 4 me during this dark time. Only person 2 blame is myself. Say what you want about me but leave the ones who have done nothing but protect and love me out of this! This goes to out to everyone!"

This is the first time Lamar, 33, has spoken out since his DUI arrest on Aug. 30. The NBA free agent was charged with one count of driving under the influence on Sept. 13. His arraignment is scheduled for Sept. 27, the same day as his fourth wedding anniversary. News of Lamar's arrest came after it was reported by ESPN that he was dealing with a drug problem.

In an interview with TMZ posted on Wednesday, Sept. 25, Joe Odom responded to Lamar's remarks and spoke positively about the Kardashian family. He also said his son was "clean."

"I'm not really trying to talk bad about them," Joe said about his alleged remarks about the Kardashians. He added that he became upset after someone said he was a heroin addict and Lamar was "doing crack" during a segment of "The Wendy Williams Show."

"People started laughing about that situation. I mean, I've been clean, like, 30 years, man. I'm in a program," he added.

When the TMZ cameraman asked if he tried to get Lamar into his program he replied, "No I haven't because I really don't believe the things that they're saying about him. My son, to me, my son is --- to me he's clean, he does the right thing, works out, he's about basketball, he's about his job and everything."

Joe later added about the Kardashians, "I apologize for the things I had said previously because I was frustrated about what they had said on 'The Wendy Williams Show.' The family is a wonderful family man, but every time I turn around, I'm being called a heroin addict."
