Lady Gaga planning Elton John duet, new album
Lady Gaga says she is working on a new duet with Elton John, as well as a new album.
The 25-year-old pop singer made her comments on an episode of the UK talk show "Alan Carr: Chatty Man," which aired on Sunday, November 20. She and John, 64, have recorded music together before.
"My next duet, I believe, will be with Elton," she said. "I'm already working on my next album. I played him a song that I wrote and he really loved it."
Lady Gaga and John performed together at the 2010 Grammys and recorded a song called "Hello, Hello" for the animated film "Gnomeo & Juliet." John has said that meeting Lady Gaga was one of the nicest things that happened to him that year.
"It's about faith and it's about me making sure that he grows up with someone who can talk to him about society and he's going to grow up beautiful because he has two amazing fathers," Lady Gaga said.
During her appearance on the UK talk show, Lady Gaga also performed the ballad "Marry the Night," which is her fifth single from her most recent and second studio album, "Born This Way," which was released in May. A teaser for the music video was recently posted. In the clip, Lady Gaga sports a short, dark-haired bob and narrates her thoughts - complimenting one of her nurses and mentioning a craving for gummi bears - as she is wheeled into a medical room on a gurney.
The singer told Carr that the video is "about one of the most horrible days of my life when I was dropped from my first record label and it's the story of what happened that day." (Check out a teaser below)
Lady Gaga has often talked about her personal and professional struggles during her journey to becoming a top pop artist. The New York native and millionaire lived in a one-bedroom apartment in the city's Lower East Side at the beginning of her music career. It was recently listed for rent for $1,850 a month.
