Lady Gaga underwent hip surgery to treat an injury that spurred her to cancel all remaining dates on her Born This Way tour, but wants to assure her little monsters that it's only a "bump in the road."

Following her procedure, which took place on Wednesday, the 26-year-old singer took to her social networking website to thank her fans for all of their love and support.

"Monsters, You really gave me a lot of strength today," she wrote on her little monsters website. "Everything happened so fast, but when it came time to face it I reflected on the many stories and experiences you've shared with me about your lives. Meeting you backstage, reading your letters, watching you communicate with fans from around the globe to form a community that supports one another--You have completely blown my mind."

"As they wheeled me into surgery today, I thought about all of your pain and perseverance, your unique family situations, school environments, health issues, homelessness, identity struggles -- sometimes you are so brave that it terrifies me," she continued. "I wonder how it's even possible. So I thought to myself, I'm alive, I'm living my dream, and this is just a bump in the road. I'm grateful because this is temporary, and for some it is not. You have changed my life. I love you and am proud to be a part of your lives. If you can do it, I can do it too, and if we stick together we can get through anything."

The pop starlet announced that she would be undergoing surgery on February 20, Tweeting the news to her more than 34 million followers.

"Going in for surgery now," she Tweeted on February 20, earning more than 18,000 reTweets. "Thank you so much for sending me love and support. I will be dreaming of you."

Celebrities such as famed television personality Ellen DeGeneres also wished the pop star well wishes before her surgery, Tweeting: "Sending love to @LadyGaga and wishing her well from her hip surgery," DeGeneres Tweeted. "She's so cool, even her surgery is hip."

On February 13, it was announced that Gaga had canceled all of the 21 remaining dates on her Born This Way Ball tour due to a hip injury. The news came a day after she said four concerts would be postponed.

The booking company Live Nation Global Touring made a statement about the cancelations on her social networking website LittleMonsters.com on Wednesday, February 13. A spokesperson for the group confirmed the news to OTRC.com.

"Live Nation Global Touring has confirmed that the remainder of the Lady Gaga Born This Way Ball performances have been canceled," the statement said. "After additional tests this morning to review the severity of the issue, it has been determined that Lady Gaga has a labral tear of the right hip. She will need surgery to repair the problem, followed by strict down time to recover.

"This unfortunately, will force her to cancel the tour so she can heal," Live Nation said. "Refunds for the cancelled performances will be available at point of purchase starting Feb 14, 2013."

The singer incorporates physical elements and props in her performances. During previous stops on the Born This Way Ball tour, she has included motorcycles, horses and castles in her shows.

Gaga has been on the road for two years on the Born This Way world tour and was scheduled to perform across the United States and Canada until March 20.
