Lady Gaga ditches makeup? Singer displays natural look (Photo)
Lady Gaga is known for her outrageous makeup and outfits and even dresses up in drag to play a male alter ego, but the "Born This Way" pop star recently shared with her fans a photo of herself sporting a more toned-down look.
The singer appears to be without makeup, or at least not as much as she usually wears publicly, in a slightly blurry, low-resolution picture posed on her Twitter and Facebook pages on Monday. Lady Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, celebrates her 26th birthday on Wednesday, March 28.
She appears to have taken the photo in front of a mirror with a BlackBerry. The singer sports dyed blonde hair, which is swept back and adorned with a white flower accessory and perfectly-tweezed dark eyebrows. She is wearing a tank top, with one of its thick straps falling over her shoulder, and is holding her PDA smart phone, whose logo is displayed backwards.
"Have a beautiful day!!" she Tweeted to her 21.6 million fans - the largest Twitter following in the world - and to her Facebook page, which has been "liked" by more than 49.6 million people. As of Tuesday afternoon, more 115,000 people have "liked" her photo.
Lady Gaga is meanwhile preparing for a world tour called the Born This Way Ball. The tour begins in South Korea on April 27. The singer released her latest album, "Born This Way," in 2011. The record recently won the prize for Outstanding Music Artist at the 2012 GLAAD Awards (see a full list of winners).
"Thank you so much to your organization," Lady Gaga, a longtime support of gay rights and same-sex marriage, Tweeted on Monday. "Let's remind the world that the zeitgeist continues to beckon for equality+change. The relevancy of freedom, the ying yang of hatred+love."
