Lady Gaga and Elton John to record duet for 'Gnomeo & Juliet'

(Photos courtesy of francfernandez.blogspot.com / ABC) Lady Gaga and Elton John are reportedly set to record a pop duet called "Hello, Hello" that will be featured the animated film Gnomeo & Juliet, which is produced by Disney's label Touchstone Pictures.

Gnomeo and Juliet is set to be released on February 11, three days before Valentine's Day, and also stars Michael Caine, Patrick Stewart, wrestler Hulk Hogan, Ozzy Osbourne and Dolly Parton.

(Photo courtesy of Touchstone Pictures / The Walt Disney Company) John and his partner, David Furnish, are among the producers of the film and the song will play during the first meeting between the two lead characters, which are lawn ornaments voiced by James McAvoy and Emily Blunt, according to Entertainment Weekly, which carried the report. A Walt Disney Company spokesperson confirmed the report. Lady Gaga have not commented.

Speaking on the ABC daytime talk show The View, John, 63, dropped Lady Gaga's name during a rant about today's popular music, during which he slammed artists that do not write their own songs.

"I dont think there's the qualtiy of the music that there was in, say, the late '60s, early '70s," he said, later adding: "I think Lady Gaga writes great songs."
